Irish Mammal Sounds

Ireland has a total of 27 native terrestrial species. We aim to record as many of these as we can, and this list will be updated as we go. Write-ups of more interesting and difficult-to-record species will be posted as we find them. To learn about the vocalisations of a particular mammal, simply click on the corresponding link below. Rather than source recordings from elsewhere, we would like to take the time to record these species in Ireland, as each opportunity arises, so please have patience as we add to the collection. It won’t take very long, we promise!

Eurasian Otter (Lutra lutra)

Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes)
