Although this page is dedicated to Irish wildlife sounds – my sound recording journey began in Catalunya and I am delighted to say that I have won the 2020 Sound of the Year Awards, in the category “best naturally occurring sound”. The audio features a dawn chorus with a common cuckoo the main focus, and was recorded at sunrise in a lush deciduous forest in the Pre-Pyrenees in northern Catalunya.
